Jialu (Lucy) Du
I began my career in education in 2003 and worked in elementary education for over 20 years, gaining extensive experience in classroom teaching, student development, and collaborative learning environments. I graduated from a professional teachers’ college and hold a Bachelor’s degree in Education.
In 2023, I joined Willowbrae Academy as a Preschool Teacher, where I further developed my passion for early childhood education and gained a deeper understanding of the importance of the early years in shaping children’s lifelong learning. In 2024, I advanced to the role of Assistant Director, supporting daily operations and guiding educators. In December 2025, I became the Director, continuing to work closely with families and staff to ensure a safe, inclusive, and high-quality learning environment.
My educational philosophy is centered on respect, care, and individualized learning. I believe every child is unique and learns best in a supportive environment where they feel safe, valued, and encouraged to explore. I am committed to fostering curiosity, independence, and positive relationships, while supporting educators in creating engaging, play-based learning experiences that help children build confidence and a strong foundation for future success.
