BEFORE AND AFTER SCHOOL PROGRAM

Overview

Willowbrae Academy offers a unique Before and After School Program with an emphasis on active play. Tailored to the interests and needs of school-age children, our program features a wide variety of engaging, age-appropriate activities. Willowbrae Academy curriculum offers three unique programs. Young Scholars is based on three key learning areas: literacy, mathematics, and science. Children are exposed to activities in these areas that will encourage; self-expression, listening, exploration & discovery, identification & recognition, and problem solving. To balance the academic portion of a child’s day the academy incorporates plenty of indoor and outdoor active play, including our BodyBreak KID FIT program. This combination of activities promotes the development of social skills, cooperation and problem-solving. Our Willowbrae Creative Kids program includes: visual arts, dramatic play, music, dance & creative movement and culture & heritage. Children are exposed to developmentally appropriate activities in these key areas to help support social, emotional and cognitive growth.

Homework Assistance

If your child chooses to complete their homework assignments during quiet time our teachers are there to assist. Completing their homework at Willowbrae allows for quality family time in the evening and a more enjoyable family experience.

Qualified Trained Educators

Employing knowledgeable and skilled Educators is essential to maintain our standards of excellence. Our qualified staff are passionate about their roles and respectful of the diversity and uniqueness of the families, children and communities they serve. All staff are certified in infant CPR and First-aid. At Willowbrae professional development is crucial and our Educators are committed to on-going training and education.

07:00 am - 08:30 am	Drop off and Willowbrae Creative Kids (arts, crafts, puzzles, reading and games)
08:35 am	Bus pickup
02:45 pm - 03:45 pm	Bus drop off and snack
03:45 pm - 04:30 pm	BodyBreak KID FIT
04:30 pm - 05:00 pm	Homework help and Willowbrae Young Scholars
05:00 pm - 06:00 pm	BodyBreak KID FIT (active free play)
06:00 pm	Academy closes, good night!

This was my son's first day care when we were in Scarborough before moving. Above all we loved the staff there. My son had a great time and loved going there. The facility has a camera which is very convenient. We were quite sad to leave the place but had no option. All the best for Willowbrae!
