Isabel Mejia
My journey in Early Childhood Education began in 2020, when I started my career working in a before- and after-school care program. In 2021, I joined Willowbrae Academy in North Vancouver as an Infant/Toddler Educator, where I quickly developed a passion for creating meaningful relationships with children and their families. During my time there, I also had the opportunity to support the managing team with opening and closing responsibilities, which sparked my interest in leadership within the early childhood field.
In 2024, I was excited to join the Willowbrae Academy River District team, where I supported the academy's opening and worked closely with the Director and Assistant Director as needed. A few months later, I stepped into the role of Assistant Director, where I worked alongside the Director, further developed my leadership skills, and gained valuable experience supporting both educators and families.
I am now very excited to continue my journey as the Director of Willowbrae Academy River District. I look forward to continuing to learn, grow, and support our team as our academy continues to grow. Most importantly, I am excited to continue building on the strong relationships and sense of community we have created with our children, families, and educators.
It is very meaningful to me to continue being part of the River District community and to support the children and families I have had the opportunity to get to know along the way. I look forward to continuing this journey together and creating a warm, welcoming, and supportive environment where our children, families, and educators feel a true sense of belonging.
